Frequently Asked Questions
How challenging is the bicycle circuit?
The 25km crater lakes circuit is graded easy to moderate — paved and dirt roads, gentle hills, no technical sections. Suitable for any reasonably fit adult. The pace is leisurely with plenty of stops. An electric bike can be arranged on request if you prefer.
What is the best time of year for this tour?
Fort Portal is one of Uganda's greenest regions year-round. The dry seasons (June–September, December–January) offer the most comfortable cycling conditions. The green season produces the most photogenic lush landscapes but trails may be muddy after heavy rain.
Can I visit the Tooro King himself?
The Tooro Kingdom welcomes visitors to the palace grounds and museum. Audiences with the Kabaka (King Oyo) are not standard tours but Roam Beyond has community connections and can occasionally arrange ceremonial attendance during royal events. Contact us for specific dates.
